Good resource for art students

First of all, this book is beautiful to look at and the illustrations are indeed adorable. The explanations of material used and why, along with the words of encouragement from the artist told in conversational style, are excellent additions. As someone who has never taken an art class before, this would not be a book for me, but for my friends who are inspiring artists and actively taking classes, these tips and techniques would be useful.
