Well Written Fantasy
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Dragonslayer is an well written work of fantasy that upholds the suspension of disbelief. Creating a world where dragons are in existence is a daunting task and can feel recycled and full of over used tropes. Imagery is strong and fully immersive. The characters are thoughtful and well developed, with strong dialog and realistic interactions. Action scenes are intense without being overwhelming.
Pacing is a problem at the beginning of the book, but once the author hits his stride, the story is well worth sticking the book beyond the slower beginning.
A good pick for fans of Game of Thones or The Witcher. An excellent pick for any fantasy reader looking for a new author to follow and become completely obsessed with. I look forward to reading more from the author in the future!
