Not what I had hoped it would be
I didn't read the whole book because I just wasn't that interested in it, unfortunately. I haven't read any books about dragons or dragon slaying and yet this book felt like it didn't hit the mark, at least not the one I thought it would. Simply put, the book didn't meet my expectations. It didn't feel original (which is a problem I have with many mystery/thrillers) and it didn't surprise me. Some readers might like that but it doesn't work for me. I also really expected more world building--that's a big part of science fiction/fantasy, right?
The characters didn't really impress me. Probably because nothing really seemed original. I did, however, like the dragon. Oh, and the cover is great but again, dragon.
