This was my first book of Hamilton's that I had read and I enjoyed even though it's probably not my favorite genre. The story was well told with a small, but nicely developed cast of characters. The setting and characters led to a ending that was to be expected. I liked the characters and was interested in what was going to happen to them, even though I kind of knew what to expect. It was a pleasant story without any horrible gory parts, and I would read the next book in the series when it is published. Also I liked the cover art so sometimes that is all it takes to get me to read a book, and the storyline isn't that important. Good to start a new series in the summer when you have more time to read!
