This was a really fun read - while I love fantasy stories, I rarely seek out dragon-centered stories, so it was fun to receive an ARC of something a bit outside of my normal wheelhouse. I loved Guillot, the main character - he's sort of washed-up and purposeless, not a typical, fresh-faced young hero - but he's clever and tenacious. The danger throughout the story kept me engaged - I haven't read any of Hamilton's other books that take place in the world, but it wasn't a barrier for me to get into the story and the world. I'm a reader who reads for the characters, and I wasn't disappointed on that front. Plus, the ending definitely left it open for sequels! I'll have to check those out as well.
