The book starts off with great world building. I'm already getting a sense of who these characters are and their personalities and views on the world around them. The author does a great job of weaving the past with the present to introduce us to these interesting characters and we instantly want to know more about. I'm not a huge fan of this genre but I think it would be a great potential option for fantasy readers. More specifically - male fantasy readers.
