Although not a huge fan of fantasy and sci-fi, I can easily see where this trilogy will be a hit. The first in the series, "Dragonslayer" proves to be a worthy read right from the start. In the first look we meet Brother Poncet and Brother Ambrose as they explore a dark and ominous cavern, searching for Alpheratz. While on their search, the two shudder at the thought of what they might find. This first look is so descriptive and excellently written that readers can feel the fear and hesitation the men feel as they slink their way through the cavern, and can just visualize Alpheratz as he awakes from his long slumber. Kudos to you, Duncan Hamilton, for a wonderfully written novel!
