For those of us reeling with the ending to the Game of Thrones tv show, this story sure looks like the answer to our requests for something more. While we wait for Martin to do his thing, I can see a place for authors like Hamilton to shine. This story gets off to a quick start and builds anticipation and mystery quickly. I am not normally a fan of the fantasy genre, but this one had me hooked. I think it would make a great entree' to the genre for anyone who was hesitant.
The character development thus far for Alpheratz, Gill, and Amoury has been excellent. We are getting a sense of each individual's history and motivations right off the bat. I can't wait to see where this one goes.
