Well. This book *could* have been a good thriller, if the author hadn’t revealed literally every twist in the book on the back cover synopsis! I’m still scratching my head over that. The dialogue wasn’t great either, it felt very YA…or like the author was trying to make the early 20’s characters sound authentic, but missed the mark.
“You love me?” I ask.
“Duh! I’ve been wanting to tell you!”
“I love you too!” I shout
“Can I walk you home?” he asks.
“Duh!”
It was just too quick & simplistic, like it was just a sketch of an idea that hadn’t been fully developed.
I also didn’t care for the way dissociative identity disorder was portrayed, in a very unrealistic, simplistic was as well, as if people develop alter egos so they can just go on murdering sprees (still not sure what the deal was with her mother). If you want to read a more realistic portrayal of DID, read The Last House On Needless Street.
