First of all, the story begins with a look into the "future" of the book and we instantly learn that Alexa's boyfriend has been murdered and she claims that it wasn't her and it HAS to be her twin sister Beth. I understand after reading it that this was supposed to be the exciting thing to hold you over. Which to be honest was seriously needed because the chapters that followed seemed to just drag on. I honestly got a headache from the cliche good twin/bad twin dynamic that was being pushed. It made it quite easy from the beginning to come up with the possible conclusion of the book. With thrillers you really expect some mystery and a sense of tension, which I admittedly felt none. I think for a less experienced reader this would be a great read. However after reading many, many books that knocked my socks off, this just didn't cut it. I really hate to rate anything under 2 stars, in fact this is the first time I have on BookishFirst. That doesn't mean that YOU shouldn't read it, it just means I wouldn't read it over again.
