From almost the very beginning, this book sends out vibes that things aren't quite right with this family. Alexa's father is definitely overprotective, and while that isn't exactly abnormal, when combined with a therapist, and hints that something traumatic happened years before, it all sets the stage for the slow unraveling of the story that predates this one.

For awhile, Alexa's life seems to be completely on track. She has a new job, new apartment and even a new boyfriend. When her sister, Beth, arrives on the scene, it all starts to become a bit out of balance and I was left wondering what was really going on.

As the book progressed, one of the thoughts I had throughout turned out to the truth. I have to say I wasn't the least surprised The book was intriguing and definitely kept me glued to the pages.

I'd like to thank Bookish First for the opportunity to read an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
