Alexa is frustrated with her widowed father's helicopter parenting that results in her living a sheltered life. However, when she gets a job offer, she moves out on her own to New York City - concerning her father and therapist. Alexa is excited about what her future could hold but that excitement is cut short when her twin sister, who Alexa hasn't seen in years due to a stint in a psychiatric institute, shows up at her front door.

Alexa herself has also spent time at the Weinstein Center but is determined to have a normal life and begins to fall for one of her social media clients. Alexa's sister Beth claims that something is off about Curt but Alexa doesn't see it. The sisterly bond begins to become strained and secrets begin to unfold. Something happened to these twins when they were only nine that led them to where they are now.

Can Alexa and Beth overcome adversity when one nightmarish act threatens everything Alexa has been working so hard towards?

I was a bit disappointed when I finished reading. I felt like the writing was a bit juvenile and didn't go in-depth with characters. Also, the ending was cliche and has been done hundreds of times.
