This is definitely a record for me, and I almost can’t believe it myself, but I guessed the big twist on page 2. Page 2!! I was so incredulous that I almost didn’t want to read the book. The cover is intriguing and the synopsis sounds awesome, but I was definitely let down.
I don’t feel that the book holds up to the mystery and thrills it promises. The ending was also a bit of a letdown to me after all of that. That being said I thought it was good writing and I was entertained. Have I seen similar plots play out in books and movies? Yes. But it was at least easy reading.
The theme of mental illness is portrayed in a dark and twisted way. Mental illness and social media is so relevant that it adds to the thrill of the plot. The courtroom scenes are also very intriguing and well done. Easy read but the twists were somewhat predictable.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
