This book caught my attention right away because I know what it was like to lose someone dear to you from violence ( even though some of the 'supernatural' stuff is beyond my understanding so far). The plot of the book is about this biracial man (white mother, black father) who inherits property from his estranged white grandfather. The property turns out to be a former plantation which comes with some haunted history (like all of them especially in the South where this story is taking place). Within the novel, the lines between time are liquid, they shift between past and present ( from what I could read from the few chapters I got). I like the story so far because the main character is trying to go through life without his son and at the same time figure out his own Identity. I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the book so I can finish to beautiful book.
