I could tell by the book's description that this would be a thought-provoking story (in a good way). First, let me say that I like the soil on th cover but not the jellyfish. I'm not a fan of the title, but I'm sure it wad intentional as well and meant to be thought-provoking as well. So, as I was reading the First Look, the author truly did a great job conveying the pain of losing a loved one and feeling the weight of their absence. His thought and emotional description was very moving, including the things noticed during that time. I also related to the character's description of racial observations (not white enough) and the one-drop rule. More stories like this one are needed.
