This is a very intelligently written first impression. I have to admit that the first chapter brought me to tears. The story begins with the funeral of our narrator's son and it is written as if the narrator is speaking directly to his son. You can feel all the intended emotion. I think this will be a story that you need to take your time with and really process each bit.
