I was instantly taken with this story and its writing because the narrator opens the story referring to another character, one who's died, exclusively as "you." You can feel the intense love and grief the narrator has for this person and when it's revealed that the person who died is the narrator's son, it's absolutely devastating. The prose is descriptive and poetic, and has a sly sense of humor in moments as well. I love it, and I love the artistic cover as well. If there's symbolism in the design, I can't wait to read the rest of the story and find out what it is.
