I wrote a great review and then CTRL-Ved instead of CTRL-Ced and it was gone in an instant. I hope to recreate it but it will not be as good or off-the-cuff as my original review because now I’m just trying to remember what I wrote. Blargh!!

I have never read a Kit Rocha book. I had never even heard of Kit Rocha before BookishFirst introduced me. I had never even heard of Moira Rogers! Or the dynamic duo of Bree and Donna that make Moira Rogers and Kit Rocha! I have a whole new world to explore.

The first world I explored was that of the mercenary librarians. Yes. Mercenary Librarians. Those words sucked me in! I knew I had to read this book. And the cover is so cool! It really gives you a feel for the gritty, post-apocalyptic world it’s set in.

I read this book in less than 24 hours over 3 days. Every time I put it down, it was only because of something important (sustenance, sleep, the caring of pets). Everything else could wait while I devoured this book. I didn’t want it to end! And now that it’s over, I need book 2 in my hands right now!

I loved the characters, though some were fleshed out more than others. I hope to learn more about them in the next 2 books, thank you to Tor! I’m so ready for this trilogy! I loved that there was an evil corporation who modified people aka gave them superpowers. Yes please. I wasn’t expecting it to be steamy but it did not disappoint. But I was hoping some of the other characters were also going to get their own action. Again, maybe in the next 2 books. Which I need NOW. I have a book hangover.
