The book starts off with a bang right out of the gate. Character Nina confronting four attackers and basically kicking a**. I love strong female characters, so right away I'm interested. We get a small amount of background info before we switch perspectives to Knox who was observing Nina's fight/escape. I feel like it's a good and promising set up. I think that, by the end of the sample chapter, there's still a lot that we don't know, and what we do know at this point is a little confusing still, but I think it's one of those reads where the background knowledge builds up over the course of the whole book so it benefits the reader to make it to the end. I liked that we were introduced to both of our points of view in Knox and Nina. I feel like I can already tell that they're going to butt heads with each other, and I'm a big fan of the enemies-to-(I'm assuming)lovers trope.
