Another giveaway book! This is all very exciting!
To be honest, I was a tiny bit hesitant with this book at first. Mystery / fantasy / supernatural books are not really my thing, and I haven't been vibing YA that much lately either. . . so I was kind of worried it would be a disappointment. This book, however, completely exceeded my expectations! To start with, it was beautifully written and drew me right in. The plot was intriguing and unexpected (did I predict the entire ending, down to every detail? Yes. But I'll take credit for ingenuity for that one. . . I don't think it was too predictable), and the characters were brilliant. . . real, relatable, and interesting. I could have done without all the obligatory YA romance, but you can't have everything.
All in all, this was a well-written, unique, and creative book. Not what I would have necessarily picked up ordinarily, but I'm super glad I read it. Would definitely recommend!
