Don’t hate me guys, I promise I tried, but I just couldn’t do it. I typically love books when someone goes missing and everyone is holding in their secrets about the night, and a group of friends all question each other. That’s my jam, I love those. I was so excited when I won an ARC of this one. I started it the night it came in the mail even. But about 100 pages in and I feel zero connection to any of the characters or the story.

It’s starts off with Grey going to her summer town in the Bayou, and seeing missing posters for her “twin” Elora. They have been fighting and you don’t know why. You don’t know who Elora is. You don’t know why she cares. You just get 100 pages of “okay I get it. Everyone is holding back secrets” and it’s frustrating. I felt like it was going no where by trying to build up the suspense.

I promise I am not trying to be sassy with my review, but it just wasn’t for me. I can see this book going places if you are a fan of slow burn young adult thrillers.

The setting is really cool, so I will give it that!!
