This book is being marketed as YA & the multiple teen characters gave me a flashback to The Outsiders, the definitive teen book of my generation. All the characters were memorable & unique to me without devolving into stereotypes.
The atmosphere reminded me of the movie Beasts of the Southern Wild.
I feel like this book has a much wider audience than just YA. I loved the mystical aspect of the story without it becoming unbelievable. The suspense & thriller aspect of it had me reading late into the night.
I am now eager to listen to an audible of this book & would love to see it put to screen.
