I honestly found myself not being able to put this book down. But then I constantly closed the book because of how beautiful the cover is.
I loved the book's setting of La Cachette. The descriptions of the town, buildings, and shops left me feeling like I was there in the story. In fact, the entire book I was picturing it very closely resembling Sausalito.
I really wasn't sure what to expect with this book, even with the excerpt and first look on BookishFirst, but I found myself very pleasantly surprised at how much I came to love this book and how dark, mysterious, and eerie the plot was. Plenty of twists and turns that had me guessing until the very end and even though it revolved around magic and psychics, it wasn't at all gimmicky or overdone (in my opinion).
I ended up having to gift this to my best friend because I couldn't stop talking about the book anytime we spoke. I was absolutely obsessed by the time I finished!
