This was one of the best books I've read in years. The atmospheric prose, the absolutely enthralling setting and the interesting plot and premise were extremely addictive, and I finished the book in one sitting. The exploration of the summer children's psychic powers was really fun to read and experience, and the end offered an unexpected twist that made the story even better. There was a bit of a love triangle, which usually I'm not a fan of, but this book pulled it off. The setting was absolutely divine, and all the description really transports the reader to the swamps in this little psychic town. The emphasis on Grey and Elora's relationship was really nice, as focus on female friendships is something not commonly seen in books. Exploring both the good and the bad of their friendship and the absolute obsession that formed was really refreshing to read.
