This first look was not enough. I was sucked in from the beginning. You get a grasp of the narrator’s voice right away. I enjoy a stream of consciousness novel. Her description of Louisiana was fantastic; very atmospheric. I have visited LA many times, and I felt like reading just the first look brought me back. I am very interested in the psychic direction this story will take- magical realism. I’m in!
