Dark and Shallow Lies is about seventeen-year-old Grey, whose best friend (and "twin flame") has gone missing. I can tell from the excerpt that this is going to be a rather atmospheric book, set in a tiny bayou town of about 100 people, referred to as the Psychic Capital of the World. It feels like a fast read.
