What I love so far about this book is of course the plot, but also the way the author describes things. Living in a humid place myself, her description of how humidity feels like living in someone’s mouth - both resonated with me and made me laugh.

On to the plot- this is not your typical missing girl story. Yes, it’s a high school aged girl who goes missing under mysterious circumstances. However, that’s where the story stops relating to any other missing girl story. From the first few chapters, we’re made aware of a pack of 10 teenagers whose number keeps dwindling (reminiscing of ‘and then there were none’), a town known for psychics, and lastly a relatable main character. Grey, the narrator of the book, seems to be living somewhat a double life- a track participant trying to earn scholarships in Arkansas with her dad and the granddaughter of a psychic/spiritual book seller and resident of the most psychic town.

I’m intrigued to find out if Grey’s double life has any thing to do with her missing best friend. By the way this town is described, there are a lot of mysteries… that even psychics can’t solve.
