I thought I was going to like this, but I ended up loving it. So, so, so much more than I expected. I love so many things about this, and it feels like my heart was ripped from my body and put back in again.
Let me summarize things I love:
-depression representation with discussions on mental health and medication
-mostly set in Iran (I want all the Persian food!)
-adorable family and friend relationships and interactions
-a main character I wanted to root for (and a boy in touch with his feelings, YES.)
-tons of character development throughout the book
-flawed characters that make mistakes but try really hard to make up for it
-it evoked strong emotions for me, and it takes a lot for me to lose my shit over a book!
