I absolutely loved this. "Darius the Great is Not Great" might just be the best book that I have read so far in 2018. I mean, I have a special space in my heart specifically for YA Fiction, but I really (really) enjoyed reading this book.

Khorram touches on so many things that a third culture kid experiences and struggles with added with the struggle of living life with Depression--and he does a really good job with navigating the emotions all mixed together.

Darius, or better, Darioush is an excellent protagonist who has felt his whole life that he was not a whole person. With one foot in his life in the United States as a "Partial Persian" and another in an unknown place--Darius doesn't know who he is or where he really belongs. That is, until a family trip takes him to Iran to visit family and a heritage that he's never really had the chance know begins to change him. He begins to find himself and develops his first real friendship.

Shoot, this really was an excellent book.
