Darius the Great is Not Okay was a good solid read. An interesting theme with Darius just not feeling like he fit in anywhere. He's a great kid, wanting to please everyone, but never feeling like he's quite good enough or has a real place in his environment. Being named after the most famous Darius doesn't help. He sufferers from depression and his visit to Iran to meet has grandparents plunges him deeper into a world where he doesn't fit. I did feel the middle section of the book moved a bit slow and I had a hard time staying interested but it redeemed itself in the last section. Great ending. The friendship between Darius and Sohrab is interesting. Sohrab is finally someone who seems to understand Darius and becomes his first real friend. A good read for a young adult.
