First off, absolutely in LOVE with that cover. Now, as for the narrator... I really love what's going on, I do, there is so much covered in 60-ish pages, I'm happy to see that. Darius is half-Persian, overweight, on medication for his depression (!!! exclamations because yes please let's have another good representation, and with teens, about this), and about to go to Iran for the first time with his family, and his father is quite the poo towards him. Darius is also into tea, Star Trek, and Capitalizing Random Snarky Words. His voice gets rather repetitive very quickly, especially in regards to his perfect little sister, his lack of real friends, and the bullies at his school. It just felt like the characters around Darius were very one note, which seemed a bit strange given how observant Darius appears to be. I certainly wanted to read on for the plot aspects of this story, but really didn't care for Darius' particular stylistic quirks.

Also, I want to drink all the tea now.
