For a debut novel, this was pretty dang good. It had action, adventure and romance - everything you need for a quick entertaining read. My qualms with this book are
1. the complexity- or lack thereof. it was quite simple and seemed that some things just fell into place for convenience at times rather than complex plans by the characters (ie six of crows) or just differently thought out situations by the author.
2. Details- This is kind of a sub section of complexity. There were just some things that weren’t completely fleshed out and details that could’ve been added for a more cohesive piece. I do think that maybe if this was a duology or trilogy there could’ve been more detail and backstory that i think would amplify and make the story better.
Overall, I did enjoy this book and think it was a fun entertaining read with a strong female lead and likable side characters . I am excited to see what this author comes out with next.
