Overall, I think it was entertaining and I didn't have any really big problems in the long run, so it gets four stars. However I feel like the description and what I was anticipating was a Hunger Games type novel, and in reality most of the time they're just getting to the event, and once they're at the event it goes really quickly. The pacing felt kind of weird. It would go at a regular pace for a time, then suddenly skip to the next few days or next morning without really any explanation for what happened in the time between, and then rush through some scenes I would have enjoyed if we got more of it in detail. It also implied a lot of conflict between each crew, so it was a little disappointing to not get much action on the island. Not that seeing all of the character development wasn't nice, it just felt a little misleading. If she releases a sequel, I'd probably read it just to see what happens next, and next time I'll know to expect her style.
