Crossbones was a very interesting read that I have read for while. The tale of pirates and adventures was common but not the race for the pirate crown. The plot has a great twist and full of suspense and betrayal. The characters are well developed with the book ranging from their different perspectives. It was a little confusing at first but I slowly got to understand of of the characters' back stories and their own fears and traumas. As Lorelei struggles to find her true self, she also finds friends by her side and the power and magic that she has in her blood. I loved the romance between Flynn and Cscilla, that gave the story a little romance and love, from family also. The ending was also kind of unexpected as Lorelei gave up the throne to Cscilla. Cscilla is unexpectedly my favorite character although Lorelei seems to be the protagonist, her bravery, self-doubt, and longing for love is what makes her such a great character to read about. Overall, a great young adult fiction read for adventure!
