This was a fun, fast paced, and exciting pirate book. I loved the three main characters and I hope to see more of them in the future. This had the best kind of ending, everything was wrapped up enough to be satisfying, but I grew to care about these people that I did not want to let them go.
The story is engaging from the first page (the first chapter is excellent at setting the mood) but what kept me reading was the connection between the characters. Their dynamic as flawed people who make each other better was very well written, and made me root for them. This is not a super deep and dark ya story, so if you go into it looking for that, you might be disappointed. But if you want a fun and swashbuckling adventure story with some great friendships then this is absolutely the story for you!
