There are immediate Pirates of the Caribbean vibes as soon as I start reading, not just because the story is about pirates. The main character is being led to her execution, much like Jack Sparrow was in the first Pirates movie. I'm not too enthused by the writing style or the plot, sadly. I think other people will like it though!
