This book is so cute, and has a lot of adorable patterns. Each rug pattern comes with coordinating accessory patterns, so in addition to a cute rug you can also make a matching stool cover or book bag or pillow.
Each pattern is clearly labeled with the skill level as well as the finished size, tools and materials needed, stitches and skills used, and even whether the pattern is left-handed compatible.
I love that the animals include a giraffe, elephant, monkey, dinosaur, crab, panda, and a cat. There's also a section on basic shapes, like eyes and bows and things, so between the various shapes available from the existing patterns and these extra basic shapes, a savvy crafter could conceivably craft an even wider array of creatures. I personally have big plans to make a boy and girl crab pillow, with the boy crab having a bow tie and the girl crab having a bow in her "hair."
