This book of crochet patterns is simply adorable. I loved the little stories and tidbits that went with each of the characters Rott has designed. They give the little critters a super personal touch.

I'll be honest--I don't crochet. I have tried in the past, and I'm not very good. However, Rusty the Giraffe has given me something to aim for. So, I'm sure some lessons with Grandma will be scheduled in the Very Near Future.

My only critique of this book (particularly as a non-experienced crochet person) is the location of the "easy stuff" in the back. It's more than a little intimidating to encounter Jeffery right after the introduction, and I flipped through the whole book thinking, "Is anything in here actually an 'easy' project?!" I of course stumbled across those eventually. Having them up front and then progressing to the actual projects may have served users better. I know it's in the Table of Contents, but I still felt the order was a little distracting.

(But if you've picked up this book and want the easy stuff, just know it's in the back!)

Here's hoping Rusty and I meet sometime in the near future!
