This book looks very easy to follow and all the designs are adorable. There are a number of different creatures featured in the book - cat, monkey, panda, dinosaur, octopus and others - so it would be no problem to find one that any child would love. They can be customized with bows to make them be a female critter, so no design is really gender specific. Changing the accent colors would make any design work in any children's room.
I've made granny square afghans and follow a pattern, so I'm hoping that these designs are easy enough for me to do. I'm planning to have my granddaughter choose which critter in which colors she would like me to make for her for Christmas.
