I love this designer and her books. Ira Rott’s “Crochet Animal Rugs” is a great book with phenomenal illustrations of her designs. Her patterns are well written and easy to follow. The instructions are very clear and concise. The photos for assembly and specific stitches make the patterns that much easier to crochet. Even though the designs are very intricate the simplicity of the designs coupled with her easy to follow instructions can be easily done by a beginner. The book covers all hook sizes and yarn sizes for different countries. It also includes instructions for left-handed people (good to know). My left-handed grandmother taught this right-handed person to crochet when I was six years old and I’ve love it. I will probably be making most of the designs in the book and will start with the dinosaur for my three year old granddaughter and the elephant for my one year old granddaughter. It is a lot of fun as well.
