I was captivated by the beautifully done illustrations. I was able to fly through the pages and just wanted to find out what was going on to cause Emsy and her parents to move! This coven of elemental witches was full of surprises and I loved the addition of the spiritual/death witch aspect. I am always so here for the love is love! We have a couple of queer characters and I enjoyed those small romantic moments.
I did find that the story went so quick and then the ending happened so fast that we missed some context for a fully flushed out story. There was a lot of fluff incorporated that I don't hate in a graphic novel, but then I expect more from the action and arc of the story. I needed more character development.
I would be interested if there is a sequel to see where the story goes with certain characters like the villain! And again I cannot get over the beautiful, stunning art!
