Jennifer Dugan's "Coven" graphic novel is one that got me to read more graphic novels! It involves a magical tale of friendship and self-discovery that I really enjoyed. This enchanting story follows the journey of a character who navigates her way through a world of witches, covens, and supernatural secrets.

The artwork in "Coven" is great. The illustrations are rich in detail. The character designs are distinct and visually appealing, making it easy to connect with the diverse cast.

"Coven" involves exploration of identity and belonging. The main character struggles to find her place in a world where she feels like she doesn't quite fit. Her journey of self-acceptance is both heartwarming and empowering, making her a relatable and endearing protagonist.

The story's pacing keeps you engaged, with a mix of humor, mystery, and heartwarming moments that strike a perfect balance. The friendships that form between Aster and the other witches are beautifully depicted, highlighting the importance of chosen family.

While "Coven" is a magical and compelling read, it falls slightly short of five stars, as in my opinion, graphic novels require A LOT to reach that point. Without having the fullness of a novel, there has to be a great many things to reach 5 stars, but that is just personal opinion!
