A quick, easy, and enjoyable read! The characters were the best part of the story. They felt real and I became attached to them by the time the plot took off. I loved seeing them interact, especially in their smaller conversations. I was racing to the end to find out if the characters would be okay. The world itself is also interesting. The lore behind witches and the history of this coven is easy to follow but not overexplained. Dugan hits a good balance between keeping a reader satisfied but also eager for more.
Seaton's illustrations are also astounding! They fit the story well and create an excellent sense of the story's mood at different points of the plot. The characters are expressive and distinguishable. The illustrations complement the story wonderfully by grabbing my attention and hinting at important information.
