Wow! This graphic novel covers all the bases! The main character is a queer witch with "fire elemental powers." She lives in California but has to move to New York where she is losing family members. Kind of reminds me of Twilight, but with witches, not vampires or werewolves. It's interesting that a graphic novel would come in hardcover, but I prefer that anyway. Jennifer Dugan says she is a geek, and a romantic. I don't think she looks like a geek, but perhaps she feel that way. She also says she writes the books she wishes were available when she was a youth. I can understand that.
