4.5 stars. This book was SO GOOD!! I had some minor issues with the very ending. Mostly that it was rushed and I feel like the villain wrap up wasn’t explained nearly enough. I felt like it wrapped up quickly and it was unclear what exactly happened to the villain of the story? My other issue was the relationship arc with Joss that kind of left me hanging. We know that Emsy decides to stay in New York - but does that mean she broke up with Joss or did they reconcile another way? The ending wasn't apparent if this story will continue, so I'm inclined to think it's a standalone. It was a 5 star read up until those conclusions.
The illustrations and story line of this were both phenomenal. I loved the creepy elements, the twists, and the emotion drawn into the expressions of the characters. This is a super fun witchy read. I don’t know if there will be more books or if this is a series, but I’d read more by this author and illustrator anytime!
