The Bad

Main character and her new group of friends got on my nerves. I will say I do think it gave a good representation of some teens. I am wondering if some of the other issues (pacing, repetitive, etc) fed into, at least a bit, my eh for main characters.

Repetitive – it spent so much time repeating a certain sequence of plot while not progressing the story past a certain point.

The pacing was a bit off like it could have been shorter, tighter, and built the mystery more efficiently.

Was it too long?

Did we spend enough time doing fun witch stuff?

Maybe it needed chapter breaks to break up the story?

The mystery had low tension and was obvious.

Spoilers!!!
1. The adults were negligent with everything that happened?
2. So the adults knew it was a teen that had dangerous magic
and used the young people to flush the villain out instead of doing something else...That would have been less a thing I side eyed if there was more suspense or something to the mystery.
2. The dark drawing on the characters arm was confusing because did the one who parents died not put together that villain girl had dark book markings too? Then again why couldn't the adults put it together?
3. The teens really did not put together who did it even though it was obvious
- so much so I thought it was a red herring.
