I went into reading this with low expectations because I can't usually get into graphic novels. Usually, I can't focus enough on the plot with all of the pictures and dialogue on each page. However, this graphic novel has proven that there are exceptions. I really really liked how it started off with "then" and switched to "now" because it created an aspect of suspense that I kept feeling as Em got closer to New York. I will say that I think Emily is a bit of a brat, but that just sets her up for better character progression. I think the cover is absolutely dope. It gives me badass witch vibes.
