Overall, this excerpt was a fairly quick read compared to others (which makes sense, since it is a comic). There isn't much of a hook in the beginning, and honestly I was just waiting for things to get good and then the excerpt was over. Love the representation in the characters. Beginning was somewhat fast-paced, so it didn't give me a lot of time to like any particular character more than the others. Some of the art throughout the excerpt seems a little inconsistent with the cover art and between panels, even with a somewhat "sketchy" line art style. Also, the art was like pixel-y .jpg quality, but I am assuming the final product will not look like that. I did find it a bit irksome when the main character, Emsy, legit does not care that close family friends were like slaughtered (even if she hadn't seen them since she was a kid). What I did read wasn't bad! Interesting, and if I get the chance I will read it when it becomes available. Hoping for more development, both story and character.
