Lacked depth

I’m not a big graphic novel reader, so I’m not exactly qualified to critique this genre. With that said, I was expecting more from the illustrations. They felt a little too digital and lacking depth. I liked how the color pallet seemed to change for each chapter, setting a particular mood. It took me a while to adjust to the brevity of words, but I understand that allows for the illustrations to tell the story. I believe I could get into graphic novels with drawings that engage me and a plot that has less of the cliche and snarky YA tone.
