Before opening this First Look, I thought this graphic novel looked fairly interesting. A main character with fire in her hands and a cast of shadowed characters hanging around in the background? I have questions.
However, upon opening this First Look, my enthusiasm for Coven disappeared.
The main character of this graphic novel is whiny and difficult to read from, even considering the circumstances she is being put through. Yes, having to suddenly move away from her friends and her life sucks. But people have been murdered. Her not having even an ounce of interest in finding out the story of these murdered individuals makes her seem like a boring character to read about.
I'm somewhat interested in reading the plot about this boy's family. However, I'm just not into the way this story is being presented enough to want to continue on with it.
